Ranking of China's top 10 foreign trade provinces in 2023

TOP 1: Guangdong

Exports of 5.4 trillion yuan, +2.5%

In 2023, the total value of Guangdong's foreign trade imports and exports was 8.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.3%. The total value continued to rank first in the country's foreign trade, and its share of the country rose to 19.9%.

TOP 9: Henan

In 2023, Henan's total foreign trade import and export value was 810.79 billion yuan, ranking first in the central region for 12 consecutive years, of which exports were 528 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%.

In terms of export categories, in 2023, Henan exported 342.74 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, accounting for 64.9% of the province's export value, of which mobile phones accounted for 45.6% of the province's export value; automobile, human hair products and agricultural products exports grew rapidly, up 106.5%, 16.8% and 8.3% year-on-year respectively, and the three together raised the province's foreign trade export growth rate by 3.4 percentage points.

TOP 10: Anhui

Exports of 523.12 billion yuan, +11.3%

Anhui is the biggest surprise in the 2023 list, and is expected to become the well-deserved "dark horse" of foreign trade in 2023. Last year, Anhui's imports and exports increased by 7.8% to 805.22 billion yuan, 7.6 percentage points higher than the national average, and the growth rate remained the first in the Yangtze River Delta and the central region.

In terms of exports, Anhui exported 523.12 billion yuan last year, an increase of 11.3%.

Automobile exports are the biggest highlight of Anhui. Anhui regards automobiles as the "first industry" and has attracted a number of vehicle manufacturers and parts companies such as Chery, JAC, BYD, and Weilai. In 2023, Anhui Province exported 729,200 vehicles, an increase of 89.8%, ranking second in the country; the value of goods was 71.46 billion yuan, an increase of 118.3%.
