Since 2014, Yuanjiang City has seized the opportunity of the gradual transfer of the coastal clothing and textile industry, started the construction of the clothing industry city project, and made every effort to introduce more than 80 clothing companies from Foshan, Guangdong, Huzhou, Zhejiang, Shishi, Fujian, etc., and built an area of ​​500 acres, integrating textile, printing and dyeing, garment manufacturing, e-commerce marketing, China's largest children's clothing production base and Internet + clothing production base and the province's first-class industrial transformation and upgrading demonstration base.

The "Yuanjiang City Clothing and Textile Industry Development Plan (2016-2020)" clearly states that the Yuanjiang Clothing Industry City is positioned as China's largest children's clothing production base, a well-known domestic Internet + clothing industry supply chain, and a first-class industrial transformation and upgrading demonstration base in the province. It plans to use four years to introduce about 300 clothing companies, achieve a total industrial output value of 15 billion yuan, tax revenue of 1 billion yuan, and provide about 30,000 jobs. Yuanjiang Garment Industrial Park is located in the High-tech Industrial Park of Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province, covering an area of ​​800 mu and has built 250,000 square meters of standardized factory buildings.

Yuanjiang Garment Industrial Park aims to build a first-class industrial transfer and upgrading base in the province, the first children's clothing production and processing base in the country, and a well-known "Internet + Clothing" production base in China. On July 24, 2023, the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce issued a public notice to carry out a pilot of county-level foreign trade characteristic industrial clusters in 15 counties (districts and cities) including Liuyang City, and Yuanjiang City's textile industry is among them. This news not only provides direction for the industrial development of Yuanjiang City, but also brings hope to various foreign trade enterprises.

Textiles and clothing are one of the leading industries in Yuanjiang City. Since 2015, the Yuanjiang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have invested 800 million yuan in the Garment Industrial Park to build 400,000 square meters of standardized factory buildings, 30 supporting factory buildings, and 125 million yuan. 540 public rental housing units have been built, and the government has set up a special team to follow up services. The Garment and Textile Industry Association was established in 2019. As of now, there are nearly 35 garment and textile enterprises, including one listed company, with an output value of nearly 8 billion yuan and actual tax payment of 400 million yuan.

Among them, there are 19 foreign trade enterprises including Xinma Garment, Xinhai Co., Ltd., Xinghai Sports, Changyu Textile, Hunan Jiahui, etc. Their products are mainly textile clothing, fishing nets, outdoor sporting goods, and environmentally friendly paper ropes, which are mainly sold to Europe, America, Germany, Japan, Southeast Asia and other regions. These foreign trade enterprises completed a total import and export volume of 1.113 billion yuan in 2022, and a total import and export volume of 220 million yuan for processing trade, exceeding the annual task.
